Micro Synthetic Fibers

Fine polymer fibers used primarily for early-age crack control, cohesion and other product-specific functions in concrete and mortar. Available options include monofilament, fibrillated, ultra-fine and specialized micro fibers.

Engineered polymer fibers designed to improve toughness, crack bridging and post-crack performance in hardened concrete. They are commonly evaluated for floors, slabs, pavements, shotcrete, tunnels and selected reinforcement applications.

Steel Fibers

Steel reinforcement fibers used where high toughness, impact resistance, energy absorption or demanding post-crack performance is required. Product options include hooked-end, glued and micro steel fibers for industrial, precast, tunnel and infrastructure applications.

High-Performance Fibers

Specialized fibers for advanced concrete and cementitious systems requiring properties such as high modulus, chemical resistance, fire-related performance, dimensional stability or enhanced durability.

Choose Concrete Fibers by Application

The right concrete fiber depends on the application, crack stage, required post-crack performance, mixing process and project specification. Use the examples below as a starting point, then continue to the relevant fiber category for product selection.

  • Slabs, Floors and Pavements

Micro synthetic fibers are commonly selected for early-age crack control, while macro synthetic or steel fibers may be evaluated where toughness and post-crack performance are required.​

  • Shotcrete and Tunnels

Macro synthetic and steel fibers are commonly evaluated for toughness, energy absorption and post-crack performance, while selected microfibers may support crack-control or fire-related requirements.

  • Precast Concrete

Fiber selection depends on handling, production process, finish, crack control, toughness and the required final performance of the precast element.

  • UHPC and High-Performance Concrete

PVA, PE, steel microfibers and other high-performance fibers may be selected for advanced mechanical or durability requirements.

  • Mortar and Repair Materials

Micro synthetic, PVA, PET and other fine fibers may be used depending on crack-control, dispersion, finish and durability needs.

  • Marine and Infrastructure Concrete

  • Concrete fibers include micro synthetic, macro synthetic, steel and high-performance fibers. Each type serves different crack-control, toughness, reinforcement or specialized performance requirements.

  • Start with the required function, application and performance. Then compare fiber material, geometry, dosage, mixing requirements, standards and available test evidence.

  • In selected applications, some macro synthetic or steel fiber systems may replace specific conventional reinforcement when supported by project design, test data and local requirements.

  • Most concrete fibers are added directly during batching or mixing. The correct sequence, dosage and mixing time depend on the product and should follow the current TDS.

  • Many concrete fibers are designed for ready-mix use, but compatibility depends on fiber type, dosage, concrete mix, batching method, pumping and finishing requirements.
