Surface-applied crystalline waterproofing uses products applied at or near the concrete surface rather than mixed throughout the concrete as an integral admixture. The CrystalGuard™ surface range includes penetrating, coating and dry-shake product forms.
CrystalGuard™ 300 is the penetrating-sealer route, CrystalGuard™ 400 is a cement-based crystalline coating mixed with water for surface application, and CrystalGuard™ 400D is a dry-shake powder intended primarily for use with fresh concrete.
Start by evaluating CrystalGuard™ 300 and 400 according to substrate condition and preferred application method. Confirm the final choice from the individual product requirements.
CrystalGuard™ 400D is specifically positioned for dry-shake application with fresh concrete. Its installation timing and curing procedure should follow the current product Technical Data Sheet.
A penetrating sealer is applied to the concrete surface and is intended to penetrate into the substrate. CrystalGuard™ 400 is instead a cement-based coating mixed with water to form a slurry that remains part of the surface-applied treatment.
