Surface-applied crystalline waterproofing uses products applied at or near the concrete surface rather than mixed throughout the concrete as an integral admixture. The CrystalGuard surface range includes penetrating, coating and dry-shake product forms.
CrystalGuard 300 is the penetrating-sealer route, CrystalGuard 400 is a cement-based crystalline coating mixed with water for surface application, and CrystalGuard 400D is a dry-shake powder intended primarily for use with fresh concrete.
Start by evaluating CrystalGuard 300 and 400 according to substrate condition and preferred application method. Confirm the final choice from the individual product requirements.
CrystalGuard 400D is specifically positioned for dry-shake application with fresh concrete. Its installation timing and curing procedure should follow the current product Technical Data Sheet.
A penetrating sealer is applied to the concrete surface and is intended to penetrate into the substrate. CrystalGuard 400 is instead a cement-based coating mixed with water to form a slurry that remains part of the surface-applied treatment.
