What Are HTM® Twist Macro Synthetic Fibers?

HTM® Twist is an engineered twisted-bundle macro synthetic fiber developed to improve toughness, crack bridging, and post-crack performance in concrete and shotcrete. Its twisted geometry is designed to enhance mechanical interaction with the cement matrix while providing non-corrosive, three-dimensional fiber reinforcement. HTM® Twist is available for applications including shotcrete, tunnels, floors, pavements, precast concrete, and other performance-based concrete projects.

HTM® Twist Usage Guidelines for Reinforcement

Follow these guidelines to achieve consistent dispersion and effective reinforcement with PIONEER® HTM® Twist fibers.

  • Dosage: 1.8–4.5 kg/m³, typically 3 kg/m³ for effective crack control.

  • Mixing: Add fibers during batching or with aggregates; extend mixing to ensure even distribution.

  • Placement: Use standard methods for fiber-reinforced concrete; fibers remain embedded, allowing a smooth finish.

  • Note: Replaces secondary mesh reinforcement but does not replace primary structural rebar if required by codes.
