Concrete fibers for precast concrete should be selected for a defined function and verified in the intended factory process. A fiber that performs in one concrete mixture may behave differently in a low-water, self-consolidating or highly finished precast system.

Micro synthetic fibers may be evaluated for selected early-age requirements. Macro synthetic, steel or high-performance fibers may address toughness, residual behavior or specialized properties when supported by the required tests and design.


Start with the Concrete Fibers category, then use High-Performance Fibers only where the application justifies specialized materials.


Verify the Factory Process

Run representative batches and record dosing, addition sequence, dispersion, workability, air where specified, mold filling, consolidation, surface appearance, demolding and curing. Inspect multiple units rather than one favorable sample.

Define the required hardened tests before trials. Structural or post-crack claims require product-specific concrete data and engineering evaluation; fiber properties alone are insufficient.

Final approval should include repeatable production results, traceable fiber batches, current product documents and acceptance by the precast producer and responsible designer.
