PAN Fiber for Concrete is a polyacrylonitrile micro synthetic fiber intended for selected cementitious applications. This definition matters because PAN is also associated with textiles, carbon-fiber precursor materials, and other industrial uses that do not establish suitability for concrete.

What Defines PAN Fiber for Concrete?

Product evaluation should identify the polymer, grade, fiber form, dimensions, surface characteristics, packaging, and stated application. The HPM PAN product page is the commercial owner for HPM PAN specifications and current documents.


Concrete behavior depends on more than the fiber’s published tensile strength or modulus. Dosage, fiber count, dispersion, paste volume, aggregate grading, admixtures, curing, and the governing test method can change the result. PAN should therefore be tested in the proposed mixture rather than selected from a generic material comparison.


Selecting and Trialing PAN Fiber for Concrete

Define whether the objective concerns early-age cracking, cohesion, toughness, or another measurable property. Review alternative material families through the High-Performance Fibers category, then document why PAN fits the stated requirement.
